* Resurfacing/Overlays - This process involves leveling any uneven areas by shimming, followed by repaving the entire surface with a new layer of asphalt. The overlay thickness can range from a minimum of 1.5 inch to a maximum of 2 inches. We recommend this application for pavements that are still in relatively good condition.

The foundation is the most crucial part of any new asphalt driveway .For full service asphalt replacement we meticulously excavate to remove any deteriorated or loose asphalt, along with any unsuitable sub-materials such as large boulders, tree roots, grass, soft soil, and loam.

We then replace it with an adequate layer of gravel, typically a 4" to 6" base or more if needed, to establish a strong foundation for the new pavement.

Following fine grading, we compact and roll the base to ensure proper water drainage away from building foundations and off the new pavement.

The new asphalt is typically installed at a thickness of 3 inches designed to be applied in one layer. It's a durable cost-effective and efficient solution for most residential driveways. We also offer 2-layer asphalt binder and top applications if necessary. 

Asphalt binder vs. Asphalt topcoat ?

Asphalt binder is typically made of 3/4" stone and makes an excellent choice for new driveway construction where no asphalt has been placed before. Asphalt binder and Asphalt topcoat can be placed on the same day or Asphalt binder will allow for 1 to 3 years of use before needing a topcoat of 3/8" hot mix asphalt applied over it. If your driveway calls for heavy excavation where settlement can be expected then this is a good choice.  If your new home construction is underway and there are still many phases to complete then this is an excellent choice. By only pacing 1.5" asphalt binder coat you can have all the traffic you need without concern for dings or settlement on the new asphalt topcoat to be applied at a later time when everything else is completed.

  If  your driveway already has been in place for years and you want a new driveway, then 1 layer of 3/8" top placed at  3" over a good solid foundation is a very good option.  This application is suitable for most residential driveways and is cost-effective, efficient and durable.
